One Day in Arashiyama - Kyoto, Japan

Arashiyama is in Kyoto. I visited here for twice.
Visiting Arashiyama in different seasons, the feeling were also different. First time was in summer. Photo was taken in May
If you come here in summer, don't forget to bring cap or umbrella and sunglasses.
The weather is hot and sunshine.

Second time was in Autumn. Photo was taken in November.
It was cloudy and rained lightly.

Arashiyama is sightseeing spot to see autumn leaves.
Peak time is lat November- early December.

How to get there

1. From Kyoto station - Take JR Sagano line to Saga Arashiyama station. Walk for 5-10 minutes.

When you walk until the orange mark point, please see below photo.
If you turn left, will go to Togetsukyo Bridge.
If you turn right, will go to Bamboo Groves.

2. From Umeda station (Osaka) -  Take Hankyu Kyoto Line and interchange at Katsura station by Hankyu Arashiyama line to Arashiyama station. Walk 5 minutes.

Arashiyama is sightseeing spot especially in Autumn. There are many tourists.
The Togetsukyo Bridge is well known place. It is long bridge.

Near the bridge, if we come here in Autumn, you can see the red maple. It's really beautiful.

After cross the bridge, both sides will full of souvenir shops and restaurants.

Next, I went to Tenryu-ji Zen Temple.
Need to purchase ticket at the entrance (500 yen).
This temple is recorded as World Heritage Site. Garden around the temple was also beautiful.

At the exit of the temple, you can go to Bamboo Groves. I really loved it.
Bamboos were tall. The circumstance was also good.

One interesting activity is taking Sagano Romantic Train.
If you come from Kyoto Station, take train to JR Saga-Arashiyama.
Then, go to Saga Torokko Station (next to JR Saga Arashiyama).
Can check train schedule from this website.
