Tezuka Osamu Manga Museum - Hyogo, Japan


Tezuka Osamu Manga Museum is located in Hyogo prefecture. You can enjoy the display of Tezuka Osamu s' works. Some of you may not be familiar with his name but his works are very popular. He also known as the father of manga. His famous works are Astro Boy, Black Jack, Phoenix, Jungle Emperor Leo and etc. I took my parents here. It seemed they like this museum. They used to watch some cartoons when they were young.




Access


1. JR Takarazuka Station
2. Hankyu Takarazuka Station
3. Hankyu Takarazuka-Minamiguchi Station

Hankyu Tourist Pass 1 Day Pass: 700 yen (Adult)
Hankyu Tourist Pass 2 Days Pass: 1,200 yen (Adult)

Takarazuka-Minamiguchi is closer to the museum than JR and Hankyu Takarazuka Station.
In case of getting off Takarazuka-Minamiguchi Station, a short walk and you will see Lawson 100. Cross the road as the below photo. Go straight (400 m.) until see the junction


Finally, you will see Tezuka Osamu Manga Museum in the opposite side as below photo.

Admission Fee

Adults  700 yen (Kansai Thru Pass 630 yen)
Students and seniors 300 yen 
Children 100 yen.

Opening Hours: 9:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. (Last admission 30 minutes before closing.)

Closed Wednesdays.

When arrive Tezuka Osamu Manga Museum, you will see Phoenix Monument in front of the entrance of the museum. Enter the entrance gate, buy the ticket at the counter. I bought Kansai Thru Pass so I showed the coupon which attached with the pass. I got a discount from 700 yen to 630 yen. It is not a big museum but is interesting.
  

There are permanent and temporary exhibitions. Permanent exhibition display Tezuka's personal belongings, his childhood and works. Tezuka Osamu Manga Museum has 3 floors; Level G, 1 and 2. There is an elevator. When we arrive the museum, it's on the 1st floor. 
Restrooms are on Level 1 & 2.



Level 1

Tezuka Osamu Merchandise. Astro Boy is one of famous Tezuka's work so you can see Astro Boy everywhere in this museum.


Cute Stamp near the merchandise. The museum provides the blank paper for stamp.


This zone is permanent exhibition corner. We can see how Tezuka create his works. 


Level 2

This zone is library. You can read the comics as you like. Books display (Tezuka's work) is near the library. You can see the display of many old comics. The cafe is available near the library.



The museum shop is near information monitors. There are many cute items such as key rings, notebook, dolls, bags and etc. 


Level G

The below photo is reproduction of Tezuka's studio. 
The workshop will be held in this zone. The participants can experience animated character they draw.
